Position Description: Senior Network Security Engineer
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Senior Network Security Engineer is responsible for implementing and maintaining network security as required by contractual obligations and PRI executive management. The Senior Network Security Engineer will also implement, maintain, and support network systems for day to day operations of all PRI personnel, both corporate and virtual.
Responsibilities
- Understand and represent PRI’s mission, vision, and values to all internal and external customers
- Interact with government and private sector clients, partners, and PRI staff in a professional and accountable manner, and as a representative of PRI management
- Contribute to business development efforts for new sales and marketing to promote the business, including responses to requests for quotes, sources sought, proposals, and/or presentations as requested
- Analyze local and wide area network systems including planning, designing, evaluating, and selecting operating systems and protocol suites
- Configuring communication media with concentrators, bridges, and other devices
- Resolve interoperability problems to obtain operations across all platforms including email, file transfer, multimedia, teleconferencing and the like
- Configure systems to user environments
- Support acquisition of hardware and software as well as contractor services needed
- Perform other duties as requested
Requirements:
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from accredited four year college or university
- CCNP or CCSP certification
- Minimum of 8 years experience in installation and support of network telecommunications, including expert knowledge of Network Security
- Current work experience that demonstrates thorough understanding of the principles, theories, methods, and techniques pertaining to both security software (IOS’s) and hardware.
- Experience in security related knowledge of LAN/WAN, VLANS, VoIP, RIP, OSPF, AAA/TACACS, EIGRP, Sonic Wall, WatchGuard, and Cisco ACLs
- Building and troubleshooting Secure Computing (TSP, Sidewinder) and Cisco ASA Firewalls and Security related products (e.g. NAT, VPNs, and IDSs)
- Reliable and trustworthy; Integrity is required
- An effective communicator at all levels in the organization, with strong oral and written skills and a willingness to share information
- A collaborative and flexible style, with a strong service mentality
- Must have no conflict of interest (COI) as defined in 1154(b)(1) of the Social Security Act (SSA)
- Ability to obtain and maintain U.S. Government Security Clearance
