Position Description: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Reporting to and partnering with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will play a critical role in developing and implementing the national strategy for Provider Resources, Inc. (PRI) As a member of the executive management team, the CFO will be an advisor integral in the evaluation of financial plans and economic modeling. S/he will be responsible for overseeing all fiscal and fiduciary responsibilities for the organization, in conjunction with the Board of Directors and owners of PRI.
Responsibilities
- Understand and represent PRI’s mission, vision, and values to all internal and external customers
- Engage clients in appropriate communication that manages client expectations and builds a collaborative relationship with the client
- Interact with government and private sector clients, partners, and PRI staff in a professional and accountable manner, and as a representative of PRI management
- Contribute to business development efforts for new sales and marketing to promote the business, including responses to requests for quotes, sources sought, proposals, and/or presentations as requested
- Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting and timekeeping systems, ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAPs), regulatory requirements, and DCAA audit requirements and any/all Federal and State agency regulations. Maintain internal control safeguards and coordinate all audit activities.
- Manage cash flow and forecasting. Develop a reliable cash flow projection process and reporting mechanism that includes minimum cash threshold to meet operating needs. Optimize the handling of banking relationships and initiate appropriate strategies to enhance cash positions.
- Oversee budgeting and the implementation of budgets so as to monitor progress and present financial metrics both internally and externally.
- Provide leadership in the development of continuous evaluation of short and long-term strategic financial objectives.
- Ensure credibility by providing timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial trends and forecasts.
- Take hands-on lead position of developing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive job cost system. Direct and oversee all aspects of the Finance & Accounting functions of PRI.
- Evaluate and advise on the impact of long range planning; introduction of new programs and strategies; contracts and regulatory action; and preparation of business and cost proposal documentation for the request for quote (RFQ) and request for proposal (RFP) processes.
- Provide executive management with advice on the financial implications of business activities.
- Provide recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and business opportunities.
- Take “hand on” approach to handling of all financial and accounting matters
- Direct the preparation of all financial reports, including Income Statements, Balance Sheets, reports to shareholders, tax returns and reports for government regulatory agencies.
- Meet regularly with Program Managers (PMs) to keep informed and offer direction.
- Prepare and review reports to analyze projections of sales and profit against actual figures, budgeted expenses against final totals, and suggest methods of improving the planning process as appropriate.
- Assume responsibility for Human Resources function for PRI Understand and represent PRI’s mission, vision, and values to all internal and external customers
- Perform other duties as requested
Requirements:
- Minimum of a BS with credentialing; MBA and or CPA credentialing preferred
- Hands on manager with integrity and a desire to work in a dynamic environment
- Strong analytical skills and experience interpreting a strategic vision into an operational model
- Deep understanding of and experience with DCAA, Federal and State audits
- Past experience successfully partnering with IT staff to manage critical financial management systems
